ISSUES

Bringing residents and businesses together to make Downtown work for everybody.

Quality of life

We don’t have to put up with unwanted unauthorized parking, spotty trash pickup and pests. The city by itself isn’t going to meet our needs, so I’ve been working with neighors and commercial interests to solve these problems which affect all of us.

A proud and practical YIMBY

Downtown is growing — and so is the number of people who say, “Yes, In My Back Yard!” — because more neighbors are a good thing, if we do it carefully and do it right. I am dedicated to collaborating with all the different voices in Downtown so our development stays true to our values.

Affordable housing for the people who make Downtown work

Service workers are key to making Downtown work, and the big businesses that depend on them need these workers nearby. But right now, developers have no incentive to build housing that these workers can actually afford. I’m championing a new model that would create a steady source of good housing for service workers, in partnership with the hotels and other businesses, so everyone benefits.

Real safety for DC residents

We don’t need the National Guard responding to nightclub noises and ICE in our streets. We need commonsense traffic rules and law enforcement that cares about what we care about — and that we can hold accountable. I’m aligned with Free DC, a movement led by the people of the District of Columbia to win dignity for our communities and exert our right to self-determination.
